ACLS is an acronym for Advanced Cardiac Life Support, also known as ALS or Advanced Life Support in Europe. It is a series of protocols and clinical internventions that are used to manage life threatening medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, myocardial infarction, stroke, etc. We train healthcare providers in the internationally accepted standards as set by ILCOR, International Liason Committee on Resuscitation, and the AHA, American Heart Association.
All of our ACLS courses are based on the 2010 AHA & ILCOR Guidelines. The ACLS Provider is the full ACLS Course. It includes all of the ACLS course material and goes into great depth. The ACLS Recert/Update course covers all of the algorithms quickly but does not have as much depth or review as the full ACLS Provider course. The ACLS Challenge course is designed for those healthcare practitioners who use ACLS regularly and are familiar with the 2010 AHA & ILCOR Guidelines. It is a fast convenient way to meet the need for ACLS Certification.
No, all of the study materials are online. You will receive a list of all the links for the AHA 2010 Guidelines for easy review before you take the exam.
Yes, as soon as you pass the exam you will receive a printable ACLS certificate. You may also, choose to receive a hard copy laminated ACLS Provider card for an additional $15 fee. After you complete your exam an dpass, go to Order ACLS Provider card to order the wallet sized card. The certificate and the card will have the date you passed the ACLS Exam and the expiration date that your ACLS certification expires.

Your exam will be graded immediately, no waiting. You will be able to print your digital ACLS certificate as soon as you get your passing (80%) results.
This will depend on your knowledge and your experience. The exam is 50 questions. Most customers complete it in 1-2 hours. Most customers find that they need at least a couple hours of review and study of the online AHA 2010 Guidelines for Recertification and 6-10 hours for Provider.
Yes, our recertification courses can be used by any healthcare professional who has been previously certified. However, remember that the more time has passsed since your last course the less comfortable you may be with course content and updated information. Make sure to prepare adequately by studying the online resources referenced at the begining of the course and reviewing the most recent AHA 2010 Guidelines. Also, remember that the most recent guidelines changed in October, 2010.
Your ACLS card is good for 2 years from the date you pass your ACLS exam?
No, you complete the exam at your convenience. There is no time limit and you may stop part way through and return later to finish it.
There is NO in-person skill check requirement. At the end of the exam you will complete a short online exam on your knowledge of basic clinical skills used in the ACLS protocols. Implementation of ACLS protocols requries that healthcare professionals be knowledgeable about CPR, advanced airway management, IV/IO usage, and other skills that are a standard part of medical, nursing, respiratory care, and paramedic scopes of practice. This skills knowledge exam replaces the in-person skill demonstration with plastic manikins, which have never been demonstrated to objectively and accurately measure skills competencies.
You have 60 days to request a refund if you are not satisfied with our course as long as you request one before you attempt the ACLS exam.
No. While our programs directly correlate with the AHA 2010 Guidelines and the course content provided by the American Heart Association, the only way you can receive an AHA ACLS certificate is to pass an AHA course in person at a local AHA designated facility monitored by AHA instructors in-person. It is your responsibility to determine the requirements of your employer or organization.
